The Honorary President of the Institute for Public Policies and Good Governance and at the same time the former Minister of Finance, Prof. Dr. Arben Malaj, in an interview for Ekonomix.al, expressed on the Nation road fee.
According to him, the reconstruction and modernization of infrastructure is a prerequisite for social and economic development and requires great funds for its construction and maintenance. In this regard, the fee for this road should go to improving its quality.
Prof. Dr. Malaj, stresses during this interview that this is not a tax but a service fee, which aims to cover service costs and a reasonable profit rate. According to him, this requires professional accountability for calculating tariffs, overseeing expenditures and preventing any potential abuse of the quality of use of any revenue from fees.
