Married with Raimonda, they have a daughter.
Prof. Arben Malaj, during his experience, has covered important roles as Minister of Finance, Minister of Economy, Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission for Economy and Finances; the Albanian Inter-Parliamentary Delegation to EU Parliament; the Albanian Parliamentary Commission and Round Table for Stability Pact in the region; the Albanian Delegation to Central European Initiative, Governor of Albania in World Bank; the EU Phare Program on SMS-s.
Prof. Malaj served as a consultant to different donors on Good Governance; Economic growth reforms; Citizen Budget; Gender Budget, PFM&; Fiscal Policy, tax policy, green budget, etc.
He has conducted scientific research in the Harvard University, Center for Business and Government, John F. Kennedy School of Government, from September 2005-June 2006, in the topic of problematic (opportunities, challenges) of the process of adhesion of Western Balkans Integration in EU.
He was a Senior Executive Programmed in the European Centre for Security, George C. Marshall Center Germany, in April 2007, for the “Enlargement of EU and OTAN”.
He studied at the Faculty of Economy at the University of Tirana; holds Bachelor’s Degree in Finance.
