The Honorary President of IPPM, Prof. Dr. Arben Malaj on the necessity of gambling closure in Albania

The Honorary President of IPPM, Prof. Dr. Arben Malaj expressed for the  Vizion Plus channel on the negative socio-economic impact of gambling in Albanian society and the necessity of its closure.

Based on the data published by the Ministry of Finance, Prof. Dr. Malaj mentions that the amount of gambling money for a year is estimated to be around 135 million euros, being considered as money stolen by Albanian families. The money that goes to these games is the lack of money that could go for well-being, health care and investment in education, says Prof. Dr. Malaj.

Prof. Dr. Arben Malaj expresses that in addition to the economic damage that games of chance cause directly to the Albanian families, social damave should be taken into account such as family disputes, divorce, criminality. He suggests that the state should rehabilitate gambling addicts and undertake public policy to ban their spread.
